What Icoustic stores

Icoustic indexes your music files on your device so browsing and search stay fast. That index — tracks, albums, playlists, ratings, play counts — lives on your devices, not in an Icoustic cloud. In a Space, ratings and play counts for a shared library stay with the library device; peers update them over your local network.

What we collect

Nothing. Icoustic does not include analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, crash reporters that phone home, or account systems for listening. There is no “sign in to play.”

Website

This website is separate from the app. If you optionally submit your email for launch updates or the launch discount offer, we store that address with Loops so we can send launch updates or your discount code after you confirm your email. We do not use it for advertising or analytics. You can unsubscribe from any email we send via the preference link in the message.

Network use

Playback and library browsing do not require a network connection for local files. Sharing between your devices happens directly over your own local network — there is no cloud relay and no cloud sync layer, and your catalog never leaves your home.

Files and permissions

Icoustic only accesses folders you explicitly choose through the system document picker. It persists security-scoped bookmarks so it can re-open those folders later. It does not scan your device for music without your permission.
